Stainless Steel 904L Flanges are composed of high levels of chromium (19–23%), nickel (23–28%), molybdenum (4–5%), and small additions of copper (1–2%) for enhanced corrosion resistance. This low-carbon, high-alloy austenitic stainless steel offers excellent resistance to strong reducing acids and chloride stress corrosion cracking. Mechanically, it features a tensile strength of around 490 MPa, yield strength of 220 MPa, and elongation of 35%, providing superior toughness, formability, and durability even in highly corrosive and demanding industrial environments.
